Manufacturing Narrow Belts Since 1967
For over five decades, Uneeda has manufactured narrow sanding belts for woodworking and metalworking shops across North America. What started in 1967 as a commitment to quality abrasives has grown into one of the industry's widest selections of narrow belt solutions — sized and built for edge sanders, stroke sanders, and benchtop machines where precision and durability matter as much as speed.
Every belt is matched to a specific material, machine, and finish requirement, in paper or cloth backing, aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. That precision means fewer seam failures and less breakage under the tighter flex cycles narrow belts see — so you get longer runs, more consistent stock removal, and a lower cost per belt across hardwood, softwood, metal, and composite parts.
More Than a Belt Supplier
When you work with Uneeda, you get more than abrasives. Our technical team has spent decades on shop floors — matching belt joints and backing to specific machines, dialing in grit sequences for edge and contour work, and helping reduce belt failure on the jobs that wear belts out fastest.
That expertise is available through our Tech Program: application videos, product guides, and direct access to our sanding technicians. The right belt, set up correctly, makes all the difference.
RKXO
RKXO is a heavy-duty poly-cotton blend engineered for demanding sanding applications. Its X-weight cloth backing and resin-over-resin bonding hold up under heavy-duty use, resisting the tears and premature breakdown that lighter belts can't withstand — while the semi-open coating helps reduce clogging and extend abrasive life between changes.

Your Current Supplier Doesn't Do This.
Most abrasive suppliers take your order and move on. Uneeda doesn't. Every wide belt customer gets access to our Technical Support Program at absolutely no charge — a hands-on service that most companies in this industry simply don't offer. We come to your facility. We look at your machines, your process, and your current results. Then we tell you exactly what to change — and we help you do it. No upsell. No consulting fee. Just real expertise, on your floor, working for you.
Free on-site technician visits
One of our sanding specialists comes to your plant — not a salesperson, a technician. They assess your machines, your current belt setup, and your sanding results firsthand.
Troubleshooting & process optimization
Burning belts too fast? Getting uneven finishes? Loading issues? We diagnose the root cause and fix it — adjusting pressure, grit sequences, machine settings, and belt selection until your process runs right.
Preventative maintenance programs
We build a scheduled maintenance plan tailored to your machines and production volume — so small issues don't become costly downtime, and your belts last as long as possible.
Ongoing support — not just at the sale
Questions after the switch? Need a second visit? Our technicians remain available by phone and on-site for the life of your relationship with Uneeda. We don't disappear after the first order.

Grit Size & Sequence Reference
The first belt removes stock. Every belt after creates an even finish. Use this guide to plan your sanding sequence.
P24–P80
COARSE SANDING
Heavy stock removal, calibration, and thickness control. First pass on rough lumber or particle board.
P100–P220
PRE-COAT SANDING
Removes milling marks and levels the surface before applying stain, sealer, or primer.
P220–P400
INTERMEDIATE SANDING
Between-coat work. Knocks down nibs and imperfections without cutting through the finish.
P400+
FINE FINISH
Creates a ready-for-topcoat surface. Ideal for lacquer, veneer, and pre-polish applications.
PAPER BACKINGS
Flexible. Ideal for contour and finish sanding. Lighter weight for finer grits.
Sturdy and stretch-resistant. Most common backing for woodworking wide belts.
